DeSmuMe is regarded as one of the top emulators for the handheld Nintendo DS (and Game Boy Advance) available. By using your PC, it allows you to play a vast array of games from the console's library with added features that enhance the gameplay compared to the original device. The emulator displays both screens of the console, with the touchscreen (lower screen) being usable with the mouse, and the traditional pad being controllable using the keyboard or a USB gamepad. To further enhance the visual experience, post-processing filters can be applied. Additionally, users can save their progress at any point, capture screenshots and videos of their gameplay, and access advanced settings for revealing layers that could be useful for extracting content from the games.
